Today's City Moves cover franchisors, restaurants, and tech companies. Take a look at these movers and shakers:

QuintilesIMS

QuintilesIMS, a global integrated information and technology-enabled healthcare service provider, has announced that Tim Sheppard, general manager, has taken on new responsibilities, which will see him lead the QuintilesIMS engagement with UK regulators, government, and industry bodies. Following the merger of Quintiles and IMS Health last year (2016), Sheppard will oversee the evolution of a unified company culture and will also facilitate collaboration across its broad range of capabilities while also leading on ongoing integration activities.

Franchise Brands

Franchise Brands, a multi-brand international franchisor, has appointed Chris Dent as chief financial officer, a board position. Dent previously spent four years as finance director of Aim-quoted 7digital Group (formerly UBC Media Group) and began his career at Deloitte where he spent 10 years within audit and corporate finance. Dent is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. In his new role, Dent will manage the group finance function from Franchise Brands' Metro Rod office in Macclesfield which will also help facilitate the integration of this newly acquired business into the group.

Byron Hamburgers

Nick Young has been appointed as chief operating officer of Byron Hamburgers. Young joins from Aubaine, the all-day French restaurant and bakery business, where as CEO he oversaw the transformation of the business. He has had a distinguished career in food retailing and the hospitality sector. Following time as commercial director at Moto Hospitality and managing director of O’Brien’s Sandwich Bars, he joined Pizza Express in 2006 and as operations director played a key part in driving the strategic development of the business and leading the operations team through a period of accelerated growth. He then spent five years as operations director for the 775 strong managed pub estate at the Spirit Pub Company, where he was part of the management team that transformed the business, culminating with a record-breaking year in 2015. Young will report to acting executive chairman, Dalton Philips, and will work closely with managing drector Simon Cope who was appointed in May.
