The research was based on analysis of 72 different indicators in 50 cities around the world by Dell Technologies, with rankings based on five different areas combining in an overall score. That included: markets, talent, capital, culture and technology.

London's nearby rival Paris came in twelfth position, Amsterdam at 19, Berlin at 21 and Barcelona at 29. Meanwhile, Copenhagen (25) Munich (31), Dublin (34) and Warsaw (35) rounded out the top 50.
