There are train delays on numerous routes into the capital this morning.

Due to engineering works not being finished on time between Finsbury Park and Moorgate all northbound & southbound lines are closed. There will be no trains between these stations until around 9am, National Rail said.

Meanwhile, following trespassers on the railway between Welwyn North and Welwyn Garden City earlier this morning, there are delays on the route between Stevenage and Kings Cross.

All northbound & southbound lines, which were previously closed due to the problems, have now reopened but National Rail warned some services may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. Disruption on this line is expected until 10am.

In addition, trains between London Paddington and Reading may be delayed by up to 15 minutes because of a signalling problem near Maidenhead. Disruption will continue until 12pm, National Rail advised.
