The government has bought dozens of homes in a luxury development in Kensington to house families affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
The market value of homes at the Kensington Row development, just off High Street Kensington, starts at £1.6m, with prices rising to £3.5m.
Some 68 of the 110 families displaced by the blaze will be housed in the luxury development, the Department for Local Government (DCLG) said.
St Edward, the housebuilder behind the scheme, has drafted in extra construction workers to get the homes ready by the end of July. DCLG said it had also provided extra cash to fit out the flats to ensure they were ready for people to move into.
Facilities at the block include a gym, a spa and an indoor cinema, as well as a 24-hour concierge, although it is not known whether the families will have access to those facilities.
"A world of privilege and exclusive residents' services awaits," promises the development's website.
Sajid Javid, the communities secretary, said:
"The residents of Grenfell Tower have been through some of the most harrowing and traumatic experiences imaginable and it is our duty to support them.
"Our priority is to get everyone who has lost their home permanently rehoused locally as soon as possible, so that they can begin to rebuild their lives.
"The government will continue to do everything we can as fast as we can to support those affected by this terrible tragedy."
A spokesman for the City of London Corporation, which City A.M. understands financed the deal, added: “We are ready to do everything we can to help the victims of the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower.
“We already provide council housing across seven London boroughs and are committed to delivering 3,700 new homes on sites across the capital.
“These plans are being discussed and agreed in principle as matter of urgency as part of the response by councils across London to support the team working on recovery efforts.”
