Zorin Finance, the alternative property lending specialist, has appointed Colin Chung as an associate director in the credit risk team and Katy Katani as head of business development. Chung joins the credit risk team as associate director with over 10 years real estate finance experience across residential development, commercial real estate and alternative assets. He joins from Funding Circle, where he was a senior property underwriter, having previously spent four years working at Canada Life in its real estate finance team in London. Prior to that, he worked for Lloyds Bank in its real estate debt restructuring team. Katy Katani (pictured) joins as an associate director and head of business development. She has over 15 years experience in the real estate industry in various business development roles, including four years at Charles Russel Speechleys as business development manager for the property team. She joins from Curtin & Co where she was business development director.
Man Group has announced the appointment of Steven Desmyter as head of responsible investment and chair of Man Group’s responsible investment committee. This position recognises his instrumental role in developing and driving forward the firm’s responsible investment capabilities, in support of clients’ needs. Desmyter, who is member of Man Group’s executive committee and head of sales across EMEA, will also continue in his current role. As head of responsible investment, he will lead Man Group's focus on serving its clients’ interest in incorporating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) considerations in the investment decision-making process. He will additionally chair Man Group's responsible investment committee, which oversees firm-wide responsible investment policies and leads efforts to educate and support each of Man Group’s investment management businesses in adopting responsible investment approaches that are appropriate for their individual investment strategies.
British Exporters Association
The British Exporters Association (BExA) has appointed Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean as its new president. Baroness Symons is a senior Labour member of the House of Lords, a former deputy leader of the House of Lords, and held ministerial posts in the UK government from 1997 until stepping down in 2005. Her time in government was as minister for the Middle East, minister for international trade, minister for defence procurement, and the prime minister’s envoy to the Gulf.
