Thousands of Tesco customers had their home deliveries cancelled today, due to a computer glitch at the supermarket.
Shares in the retailer were down two per cent in afternoon trading.
Up to 10 per cent of Tesco's customers were affected, a spokesperson for the supermarket said.
“We’re currently experiencing an IT issue which is affecting some Grocery Home Shopping orders. We’re working hard to fix this problem and apologise to customers for any inconvenience this may cause," the spokesperson added.
Angry customers took to Twitter to complain that the groceries they'd ordered had not arrived as scheduled:
@Tesco 30mins into my order slot and you cancel it,have been waiting in for it to. Nothing like short notice and great customer service 😡😡😡😡— Daniel Irvine (@danirvine7) June 20, 2017
