Euston station has been beset by problems over the last 24 hours

There are further delays at London's Euston station this morning, this time because of a broken down train.

National Rail said an earlier broken down train near London Euston and a safety check of the track at Berkhamsted is causing disruption to London Midland, Southern and Virgin Trains services to and from London Euston. Trains to and from the station may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes.

Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 4pm.

Routes affected are:

London Midland between London Euston and Northampton/Birmingham New Street/Crewe

Southern between East Croydon and Milton Keynes Central

Virgin Trains between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly/Shrewsbury/Holyhead/Liverpool Lime Street/Glasgow Central

Today's disruption follows chaos during yesterday's evening rush hour, after a fire beside rail tracks led to Euston being evacuated and closed. The problems carried over until this morning, with London Overground services still not running in or out of Euston.
