Colliers International

Colliers International has made new tracks in the automotive sector with the latest appointment of Alisdair James, a new director in its automotive and roadside team, as the division continues to drive its leading position in the sector. He has more than 20 years of national automotive and roadside property experience, enabling Colliers to help continue to grow the development and investment side of its roadside-related business arm. Alisdair provides advice across all automotive sectors including vehicle dealerships; roadside retail; trade counters; tyre and exhaust centres. He is joining the company from Rapleys, where he was a partner with previous clients including Pendragon; Lookers; Majestic Wine Warehouses; Topps Tiles; Halfords Autocentres and Ambit Group.

Catax

Chartered accountant and tax adviser, Nigel Holmes has been appointed as a senior R&D consultant at Catax, a leading expert in specialist tax relief. Nigel’s appointment follows Catax’s rebrand in early April and reflects chief executive Mark Tighe's intention to scale up the company.s R&D division. Nigel joins Catax from accountancy firm Armstrong Watson and has over 16 years’ experience in research and development tax relief. He was also recently nominated for Tolley's Taxation, Tax Writer of the Year Award 2017.

Boodle Hatfield

Mark Lindley will be promoted to partner level at Boodle Hatfield from 1 May. Mark is a key part of Boodle Hatfield’s highly regarded contentious trusts and estates team, advising some of the world’s wealthiest individuals and families, trusts and their beneficiaries, charities, and advisers. Mark has been named as one of the UK’s 35 Under 35 private client practitioners in 2010, 2012 and again in 2015 by Private Client magazine, as one of Spear’s Wealth Management’s rising stars and a runner-up in its Future Leaders awards programme in 2016.

Sovereign Capital

Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity buy and build specialist, is pleased to announce that Alex Hay has joined the team as a partner. Alex joins from RJD Partners where he had been a partner since 2011 working with businesses across a breadth of sectors. Alex’s expertise is highly complementary to Sovereign’s areas of sector focus: support services, healthcare services and education & training. Prior to RJD Partners, Alex built his deal experience at Close Brothers Corporate Finance following his earlier accountancy career at PwC.
