British summers can be dreary, but beer fans are in for a treat later this year with the inaugural Beer Fortnight.

Pubs across the UK are planning to give away 15,000 free pints of beer to pub-goers as part of the event.

The initiative was kicked off by Ei Publican Partnerships (formerly Enterprise Inns), which leases properties as pubs.

Participating pubs in the group will be offering the free booze from 22 July to 6 August.

The campaign is intended to drive footfall and promote community pubs. The list of participating pubs will be announced in due course.
