Southern Rail, Gatwick Express and Thameslink services are disrupted this afternoon after a person was hit by a train near Purley in south London.
National Rail said due to a person being hit by a train between East Croydon and Redhill some lines are blocked.
British Transport Police confirmed a person died after they were struck by a train at Purley station. Police were alerted shortly before 12.10pm this afternoon.
Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes. Disruption is expected until 15:00.
