Mornington Crescent tube station has been closed this morning as police investigate a stabbing attack.

Transport for London said the station had been shut "on the request of the police", and no Northern line trains will be stopping at the station.

According to a report on the BBC, the station closure is due to a stabbing that took place nearby in the early hours of this morning.

Surrounding roads are closed to traffic.

Twitter user Simon Lamrock shared photos of the scene on the social media network this morning.
