The greatest thing about Easter (apart from the obvious) is that much-needed four-day weekend.

But what will you do with all that time? We’ve got you covered - London is a-buzz with events for parents and kids alike.

Easter Chocolate workshop - My Chocolate, De Beauvoir Town

Thursday 13 April - Saturday 15 April

Make your own chocolate creations with this special workshop for cocoa lovers at 11am and 3pm each day. You’ll also get a tasty chocolate lesson, as well as getting the chance to decorate your handy work using dark chocolate ganache, milk chocolate fudge and bowls of melted chocolate. Sound appetizing? Tall Ships Regatta, Greenwich

Thursday 13 - Sunday 16 April

The Royal Borough of Greenwich will host its annual nautical rendez-vous to mark the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. Visitors can board some of the ships, to find out about life on board, the history of the ships and how they work. The celebrations will end with the Parade of Sail as the ships are joined by a number of smaller vessels to sail out of London. Find out more here.

The Passion of Jesus, Trafalgar Square

Friday 14 April, 12pm and 3.15pm

Watch an open-air re-enactment of the story of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ on Good Friday. The cast is made up of 100 volunteers, all dressed period costumes - along with a real donkey and horses. The 90 minute show has become very popular in the eight years it’s been running, so arrive early for good view - although the action will also projected onto big screens.

Pop Brixton Big Egg Hunt, Brixton

Sunday 16 April, 10am - 11pm

This one-of-a-kind Easter egg hunt features magicians, street performers, face painters and craft activities for the whole family, plus an adults-only after party hosted by Midnight Riot Records. If that’s not enough to win you over, the event is completely free - find out more here.

Easter Brunch at The Marylebone

Sunday 16 April, 8.30am - 12.30pm

Celebrate Easter in style with this delicious Easter Sunday brunch. You’ll begin by tucking into a buffet which will be served from 8.30am until 12.30pm, then move on to some Easter-themed activities including two egg hunts. There will also be a reading given by children's author Harriet Whitehorn, as well as an entertainer who will be on hand to amuse families with interactive games and balloon sculptures.

Easter Egg Treasure Trail, Canary Wharf

Once you’ve found them all, note down the colour of each egg and head to the Easter trike in Jubilee Place Lower Mall to claim a prize - a bespoke Canary Wharf gold chocolate coin!
