Tavistock Investment has expanded its senior team with the hire of Mark Evans as business development director. Mark will work closely alongside the firm’s chief executive Brian Raven and will be responsible for all business development activity across the group. This will range from considering potential acquisitions to establishing strategic partnerships and developing affinity relationships. Mark brings with him over 28 years of business experience and industry knowledge both in the UK and overseas. In 2012, Mark was recruited to into Lighthouse Group as their first business development executive. Six months later, he was promoted to managing director of Lighthouse Financial Advice where he consolidated the separate divisions into one and helped increased the advisers’ earnings substantially.
Matthew Wright will take over as managing director of Dong Energy’s UK business when current chair Brent Chesire retires in June after 13 years with the company. Brent was Dong Energy’s first UK employee in 2004 and under his leadership, the business has expanded rapidly with over 850 people now working in the UK. Matthew will join Dong Energy from Southern Water, where he is chief executive officer. He has been at Southern Water since 2011. Between 2007 and 2011 he was at United Utilities’ UK operations and previously held various senior management roles at Scottish Power.
The board of Findel has appointed Phil Maudsley as chief executive with immediate effect. Ian Burke, executive chairman, has moved to non-executive chairman. Phil was previously managing director of Express Gifts, the group’s online value retail business. Phil has led the development of Express Gifts for over twenty years, and has been a board director since 2004. In the five financial years following 2011, Phil has been responsible for the transformation of Express Gifts to become a leading online retailer. Paul Kendrick will succeed Phil as managing director of Express Gifts.
South America-focused oil and gas group Amerisur Resources has appointed Dana Coffield to the board as an independent non-executive director. Between 2005 and 2015 Dana was co-founder and CEO of Gran Tierra Energy. Dana is well recognised in the oil and gas investment community, with government representatives and with industry peers for his accomplishments in South America and particularly in Colombia
