Top Cat and the Flintstones have been bumped out of the limelight in Halifax's latest TV adverts by Lady Penelope and Parker from classic puppet series The Thunderbirds.
The new commercial sees long-suffering butler Parker win the top prize in Halifax's savers' draw and spend the money on a luxury holiday.
No stranger to advertising, the characters of The Thunderbirds have been endorsing goods and services since the 1960s, when Jeff Tracy pronounced that “Kellog's Sugar Smacks are go!” in a commercial for the cereal.
Since then the Thunderbirds stamp of approval has been lent to Kit Kat, Specsavers, and even the DVLA.
In 2008, resident Tracy island scientist Brains danced to Rhythm is a Dancer in what proved to be a viral advert for Drench Spring Water.
