Stansted Express and Greater Anglia services are subject to disruption today due to an earlier fault with the signalling system between Hackney Downs and Bethnal Green.
The fault has since been rectified and Greater Anglia said train services running through these stations are returning to normal, but some services may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. The disruption is expected to continue until 11:00AM.
The problems are affecting Greater Anglia and Stansted Express services in both directions between Liverpool Street and Hertford East, Stansted Airport and Cambridge and between Tottenham Hale and Stratford.
The rail operator said some services may be diverted via Stratford to and from Liverpool Street or diverted to terminate at and start from Stratford.
Greater Anglia and Network Rail apologised for the disruption to people's journeys.
