What sticks out about 2016 for you?
In case you need a bit of help recalling the events of what's been a fairly intense 12 months, Facebook has helpfully revealed the topics that got the most attention online during the year.
UK top 10
In the UK, the top 10 was dominated by politics, with a bit of football thrown in near the top too - a glimmer of light relief in a news-heavy period.
It should come as no surprise that Brexit came in first - the topic is still one of the most talked-about across the country.
In third was the death of David Bowie - the passing in January of one of the most original and inspiring artists the world has seen was the first of a seemingly greater than usual number of celebrity deaths this year.
The London mayoral election was the fourth most talked about topic on British Facebook, with eco-friendly Tory Zac Goldsmith trying - and ultimately failing - to win over busdriver's son and Tooting-dweller Sadiq Khan. Interest in the mayoral race was no doubt piqued by City A.M.'s hustings, during which Goldsmith was forced to address allegations of running an Islamophobic campaign.
Pokemon Go, at number seven, took the world by storm when it was released in July, and proved so popular that it's prompted rivals like Sony to look into making their own smartphone games.
Finally, the tenth most talked about topic among British Facebook users was the tragic death of Jo Cox, Labour MP for Batley & Spen in West Yorkshire, in June. The mother of two was stabbed and shot outside a library where she held her constituency surgeries. Last month, a jury found right-wing extremist Thomas Mair guilty of murdering Cox.
Global top 10
Around the rest of the world, Brexit was only the seventh most talked about topic, with the US Presidential election taking the top spot.
