Kingston Smith, the top 20 firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, yesterday announced the promotion of James Moggeridge and Nick Thompson (pictured, right) to directors within its corporate finance department. James is experienced in leading on both M&A lead advisory projects and financial due diligence assignments. As a chartered accountant, his corporate finance experience is complemented by his ability to deliver core accountancy services and he has acted as a reporting accountant on a number of public company listings. James’ new remit will encompass client work in Kingston Smith’s Romford office in addition to his City office responsibilities. Nick’s core focus is small to medium sized businesses and he advises on disposals, acquisitions and management buyouts, as well as providing strategic advice across a wide range of sectors.

Independent bookseller Blackwell’s has announced the appointment of Dean Drew to the Blackwell’s board in a newly created role of sales and marketing director. Drew, a former marketing director for Peugeot, sales and marketing director at retail specialist RMI and head of digital and marketing at CPM Group (the world’s largest field marketing and outsourced sales & marketing agency), adds significant senior experience to the company’s leadership team. The appointment of a sales and marketing director to the Blackwell board is part of a wider restructure of the company’s existing sales and commercial teams.
COLT TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Colt continues to bolster its management team with the appointment of Stephanie Lynch-Habib as chief marketing officer, effective December 1. Reporting to chief commercial officer Tom Regent, Stephanie will execute Colt’s marketing strategy. This strategy will support the evolution of the Colt brand into a high-bandwidth leader, with best in class network and customer experience. Based in Paris, Stephanie is an American native but has been living in Europe for the past 17 years. She brings a wealth of experience, with over 20 years in the telecommunications industry.
FRESHFIELDS
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has appointed Adrian Maguire as co-head of the firm’s global financial investors group (GFI). Adrian will be taking the reins of the GFI group from current co-head David Higgins on 1 January 2016. David will be returning to full-time client work after six years as co-head of the group.
