Eight Roads
Eight Roads, the global investment firm, has appointed Laura Atterwill as talent partner. Laura joins from executive search and consulting firm, Spencer Stuart. In this newly created role, Laura will identify and develop a pipeline of next generation investment talent across the Eight Roads network of captive and associated funds. She will also work closely with the Eight Roads portfolio of companies to help leadership teams find the best talent to scale their businesses. Laura joined Spencer Stuart in 2007, working her way to become a consultant in the financial services practice with a focus on private equity. In this role she helped multi-asset managers to hire into a range of strategies as well as introducing new advisory services tackling diversification, CEO succession, culture and leadership assessment.
Liontrust
Ian Chimes will be joining Liontrust as head of global distribution. Ian, who will report to chief executive John Ions, will be responsible for sales in the UK and internationally. Ian is currently sales and marketing director of Miton Group and, among his previous roles, was managing director and co-founder of Psigma Asset Management and managing director and head of distribution, Europe, of Credit Suisse Asset Management. Simon Hildrey will become chief marketing officer following Ian’s recruitment.
Squire Patton Boggs
Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Neil Upton to its global energy & natural resources practice group in London. Neil joins the firm as partner, along with a six-strong legal and business development team, from King & Wood Mallesons in London, where he was the UK and Europe head, and global co-head, of the energy and infrastructure and project finance practice. His global practice is focused on advising utilities, banks and other financial institutions, governments and NGOs on all aspects of the energy business, including the structuring, development and financing of projects, M&A, trading issues, privatisation, market entry and regulatory matters. His expertise extends across sectors including power generation (both conventional and renewable), oil gas and LNG (liquefied natural gas), transmission and supply.
Iofina
Iofina, specialists in the exploration and production of iodine and iodine specialty chemical derivatives, has appointed Malcolm Lewin as executive director and chief financial officer. Malcolm has served as the company's interim CFO since February 2016, and that appointment has now been made permanent. Malcolm is based out of the UK, and has over 30 years' experience in finance and accounting at both public and private companies. As well as being a partner in a chartered accountancy firm for 11 years, he has acted as finance director or CFO for various companies that are or have been listed on AIM, TSX-V and NYSE-MKT global stock exchanges.
