Yorkshire Building Society has appointed Mike Regnier, its chief customer officer, as its new chief executive.
Regnier joined Yorkshire Building Society in 2014 and will move into the top job at the lender on 1 January next year.
Chirs Pilling, the current chief executive, said in June that he would be leaving Yorkshire Building Society by the end of the year. He has been leading the group for five years.
John Heaps, Yorkshire Building Society's chairman, said Pilling made a "tremendous contribution to the Society's success".
I am delighted to announce Mike as our new chief executive. His commitment to mutual values, his engaging style of leadership and his clear strategic outlook will all help to ensure he builds on the society's continued success.
Regnier said: "Yorkshire Building Society has a fantastic history and heritage of more than 150 years as a member-owned financial services provider.
"Our mutual values, dedicated colleagues and continued financial strength enable us to focus on what matters most to our customers - helping them to save for the future and buy a home of their own."
