This is how many of us would take a pay cut for our dream job
The City might have a reputation for luring in workers with its high salaries and swanky lifestyles, but according to new research four in five of us would take a pay cut if it meant landing our dream job.
In a survey of 2,000 workers, 81.9 per cent they'd be willing to lower their salary for their ideal role, the study by CV Library found.
Britons kept to their reputation of being surprisingly unmaterialistic about their careers: just over one in five, 22.3 per cent, said that salary was a crucial factor.
In the past, UK workers have been found to be much less interested in salaries when job hunting than their global counterparts, instead valuing the type of work and job description.

Not even swayed by fancy job packages, only 4.4 per cent said they would be influenced by workplace perks and benefits when deciding whether to take a new role.
When asked what their priorities would be for a new role, a large majority (73.3 per cent) said development and clear career progression were important when considering a new job.
On the other hand, Britons seem to be pretty happy to stay in their comfort zones. Less than half (46.4 per cent) said they would relocate for a job.
