London-based initiative A World of Gin has launched Ginder – a weekend event that seeks to help hopeful gin lovers find their perfect gin and tonic match.

The boozy speed dating event, kicking off this Friday in Bethnal Green, invites gin fans to book in for a 30 minute "swiping session", where they’ll be offered various gin, tonics and garnishes to suit their taste.

Once revellers have found their perfect poison, gin lovers will be offered a complimentary full-size g&t to send the rest of the evening with.

A spokesperson for the session said: "With over 250 gin brands available in the UK, 20 different tonic and hundreds of possible garnishes, finding a perfect g&t can be a mean feat these days. Ginder is here to solve this problem."

The sozzled speed dating weekend is just one event celebrating mother's ruin this year. A World of Gin returns to the capital in August for "Ginstonbury", the biggest botanical festival of the year. The line-up is yet to be confirmed, but we reckon acts like Bombay Sapphire and Sipsmith are likely to put in appearances...
