City commuters were faced with a headache on Friday morning as Transport for London was forced to shut the Waterloo & City line after an empty train was derailed.

The incident happened before 7am this morning but was still affecting services more than an hour later.

There was no word on when the service would be back up and running.

Commuters were being advised to use the Jubilee and Northern Lines to get from Waterloo to Bank station while the team resolves the issue.

We've also put together a handy list of alternative routes for times such as these when the City line is down.

Or you could make the most of the sun while it's out, and walk...
