The filming was taking place for The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, with Casino Royale and Golden Eye director Martin Campbell reportedly directing.
Met police working along the Thames had earlier warned people that there would be loud special effects in the area and for people not to be concerned if they saw or heard the explosion.
Don't be concerned if you hear or see explosions on Lambeth Bridge today, filming is taking place including loud special effects.
