Liz Murdoch joins Jimmy Choo board
Elisabeth Murdoch, former chief executive of production giant Shine Group and daughter of media tycoon Rupert, is joining the board of luxury footwear firm Jimmy Choo.
Murdoch, who stepped down from the helm of the firm she founded a few years after it was bought out by her father, starts as non-executive director today.
Shine Group was sold to 21st Century Fox, her father’s media conglomerate, in 2011 for £415m, giving Murdoch a personal profit of about £130m from the deal. She left at the end of 2014, when Shine was merged with ApolloGlobal Management’s Endemol and Core Media production houses.
She is currently chair of early stage tech investor Freelands Group and trustee of the art gallery group Tate.
Jimmy Choo chairman Peter Harf said: "We are very pleased to welcome Elisabeth to the board of Jimmy Choo as she brings a wealth of experience."
