STANHOPE CAPITAL

The investment office has appointed Bernard Kalfon as partner to develop its private and institutional client base outside the UK. He has over 20 years’ experience and has held roles at Société Générale Asset Management, Salomon Brothers-Citibank, and Bear Sterns. In 2009, he co-founded Nexar Capital Group.


INVESTEC PRIVATE OFFICE

Rafe Garvin has been appointed investment director at Investec Private Office. Prior to joining, he was a vice-president at Pictet & Cie in Geneva, managing over $1bn in multi-currency portfolios for US clients. Garvin has also previously held roles at Royal Bank of Canada.

MIZUHO INTERNATIONAL

The London-based securities and investment banking arm of Mizuho Financial Group has announced the appointment of Andrew Feachem and Juan Carlos Martorell as managing director, co-heads of structured solutions within its fixed income business. They both join from Lazard & Co, where they were responsible for establishing its derivatives and credit advisory business. Feachem and Martorell have also held roles at ABN Amro.

AMUNDI

Fabrice Bay has been appointed senior portfolio manager in the European asset manager’s global equity team, based in London. He joins from Martin Currie, where he was an investment manager in international equities. Bay has also previously worked as a hedge fund manager at GLG Partners, and has held senior roles at Deutsche Wealth & Asset Management and Putnam Investments.

INTERMEDIATE CAPITAL GROUP

The asset manager has appointed Bindesh Savjani as global chief risk officer. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Management. Savjani has held senior risk positions at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Aviva Investors and EY.

LANDOR

The strategic brand consulting and design firm has announced the appointment of Steve Owen as its new executive creative director. He was previously executive creative director at the branding agency Heavenly.

WFW

The law firm has announced the appointment of Joe McGladdery as a partner in its maritime practice in London. He joins from Wikborg Rein. McGladdery has particular experience in the offshore and LNG markets, and was previously general counsel and a company director at Qatar Gas Transport Company.
