Mayfair Capital Investment Management
The UK real estate investment manager has announced the appointment of Phil Sturdy (pictured) as investment director. He joins from Rockspring Property Investment Managers, where he was European director. Sturdy has also previously held positions at CBRE. In addition, Mayfair Capital has appointed Laura Sweet as an asset manager. She previously worked at Lambert Smith Hampton.
Metro Bank
The bank has announced two senior appointments to its executive team. Ian Walters joins as managing director of commercial banking and Iain Kirkpatrick joins as managing director of regional banking. Walters previously worked as managing director of business banking and managing director of specialised relationship management at RBS. Kirkpatrick previously worked in Lloyds Bank’s UK private bank division.
Peel Hunt
Paraag Amin has been appointed technology analyst in the corporate broking, advisory and trading house’s equity research team. He joins from StyleCard, where he was founder and chief executive. Amin has also held roles at Credit Suisse, RBS and Citi Group.
Ropes & Gray
The law firm has appointed Chris McGarry as a partner in its finance practice in London. He previously practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in London. McGarry advises on structured finance transactions, and has also held roles at Clifford Chance and in RBS’s structured finance front office.
HUB
Kieran Hobbs has been appointed land and development manager at the mid-market developer. He was previously senior development manager at Mount Anvil, where he was responsible for the acquisition and management of new development opportunities. Hobbs has also held roles at Berkeley Group.
White & Case
The law firm has announced the appointment of Ian Wallace as a partner in its global financial restructuring and insolvency practice, based in London. He joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Wallace has over 12 years’ experience and advises on a wide range of restructuring transactions.
