Legal & General Investment Management

Andrzej Pioch has been promoted to co-fund manager in the investment management company’s multi-index team. He joined Legal & General Investment Management in July 2014 as fund manager from Aviva Investors.

Argo Group International Holdings

The underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products has appointed Steve McGill as global head of professional lines. He joins from XL Catlin, where he was most recently global product leader for its D&O and financial institutions business. McGill has also worked for XL Capital among other firms.


The law firm has announced the appointment of two partners in its social housing team in London. Linda Convery and Gillian Bastow both join from Lewis Silkin. Convery advises on the development of new social, affordable housing and complex mixed use regeneration schemes. Bastow covers legal and commercial issues affecting the businesses of social housing providers.

Investec Wealth & Investment

The wealth management and investment firm has announced four appointments to its research team. Dominic Barnes joins as a fixed income portfolio manager from Credit Suisse Private Bank & Wealth Management, where he was a director. Esther Gilbert joins as a fixed income analyst from Axa Investment Managers, where she was a portfolio manager and fixed income investment analyst. Marcus Blyth and Adrian Todd join as fund selection specialists from Kleinwort Benson and Coutts respectively.

Vontobel Asset Management

Hubert de Froberville has been appointed senior relationship manager to support the asset manager’s activities in alternative investments. He joins from Lazard Asset Management, where he was responsible for raising assets for alternative strategies and managing client relationships in the UK and Continental Europe. De Froberville has also held roles at UBS Investment Bank.

Stone Harbor Investment Partners

The fixed income manager has announced the appointment of Kumaran Damodaran as a portfolio manager in its emerging markets debt team. He joins from GLG Partners, where he was lead portfolio manager for emerging markets.
