Tourists Rejoice: EU hangs up on roaming fees

The EU is giving travellers a big break on their mobile phone bills by cutting out roaming charges. From next April, charges will drop to no more than five euro cents (4p) a minute for calls, two cents per SMS and five cents per megabyte of data. Data roaming charges will be banned altogether by June 2017. David Cameron called the deal “fantastic news.”
