More ale drinkers turn blonde
Raise a glass this weekend to the new generation of lighter blonde, golden, and pale ale drinkers, who have lifted the sales of this glistening libation by 27 per cent over the past five years.
Research from Nicholson’s Pubs, owners of The Coal Hole in London’s Strand and 80 others in the UK, say traditioinal amber ale drinkers are switching to a lighter refreshment.
Richard Yarnell, Nicholson’s Beer Sommelier said: “Over the last few years as we’ve seen a boom in smaller breweries and a variety of new styles and flavours. Paler ales offer an alternative to lager and appeal to both men and women.”
