Paul Satchell has been appointed pan-European chemicals analyst at Investec Securities. He joins from Canaccord Genuity, where he has been an equity analyst since 2010. Satchell has almost 19 years’ experience as a sell-side analyst, and has held further equity analyst positions at ING, Merrill Lynch, Flemings and Paribas. He also has 16 years’ experience in the chemical industry, holding roles at BP and Coopers & Lybrand.
The investment manager has appointed Joanne Wheatley as head of UK institutional client services. She joins from BlackRock, where she spent eight years as client director within its global client group.
The law firm has announced the appointment of partners Roland Fabian and Russell Clifford to its board. Fabian is managing partner of BLP Germany and part of its real estate and infrastructure team. Clifford, meanwhile, is the practice group head of BLP’s global asset finance group. He joined the firm in 2009 from Allen & Overy.
Nicolas Schrameck has been appointed convertibles fund manager at the asset management firm. He will co-manage the Aviva Investors Global Convertibles fund. He joins from Edmond de Rothschild, where he was part of the team that managed its convertibles strategy.

The international broking division of the insurance and risk management firm has appointed Stuart Reid as chief executive for UK retail. He was most recently executive chairman of Bluefin, following five years as chief executive, and has also held positions at Bishop Skinner. Reid is deputy chairman of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.
James Ward has been appointed head of private client at the law firm. He is currently a partner at Seddons, and specialises in succession planning for high net worth individuals.
The law firm has announced the appointment of Paul Beanlands as an associate in its London real estate team. He joins from Nabarro, and specialises in commercial property work.
