Personal trainer Tony Stacey hopes for a bit of magic in bid to run seven marathons in seven days
A personal trainer based in the City has won celebrity backing for his campaign to raise cash for Breast Cancer Care by running seven marathons in seven days with a group of supporters.
Tony Stacey, who was born and raised in Barking but now lives in Kent, and a group of runners will complete the Paris Marathon on Sunday 12 April. They will then return to London to run a further six marathons in and around London as many days.
Tony, 37, and the Save Our Melons (SOM) runners hope to raise £20,000. He founded Save Our Melons after his mum Barbara was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 with the aim of raising £100,000.
The 7 x7 Marathon feat has won the support of Dynamo, the street magician who is world famous for levitating above the Shard. Musician Beverley Knight and Big Brother’s Brian Dowling are also backing him.
Tony said: “Mum had a mastectomy and a further two operation to remove lymph nodes. She then had 18 weeks of chemotherapy and a further six sessions of radiotherapy. Thankfully she now has the all clear.”
Now that’s some feat for his feet.
