Baker Botts

The law firm has appointed Mark Rowley as the partner in charge of its London office. He joined Baker Botts in London in 2001, and has subsequently held positions in its office in Baku in Azerbaijan and Brisbane in Australia.

Stanhope Capital

The investment office has announced two appointments to its private equity division. Edward Clive becomes head of private funds. He was previously a senior director within Stanhope Capital’s investment research department, and has also held positions at Lazard and Vantage Group. Jerome Sibony becomes head of direct investments. He joins from Neo Investment Partners, where he was the senior principal on its small/mid cap private equity fund. Sibony has also held positions at GE Capital, Activa Capital and Atlas Venture.


The law firm has appointed Caroline Walker as a partner in its real estate department. She joins from Wragge Lawrence Graham, where she has been a partner in its real estate team since 2012. Walker advises on commercial property transactions, and specialises in investment and development work for institutional clients.


The real estate firm has appointed Tom Whalley to its City lease consultancy team. He joins as a director, having held positions at Jones Lang LaSalle and Kinney & Green. Whalley has particular expertise in office rent reviews, lease renewals and Section 18 (1) valuations.

Waverton Investment Management

The investment management firm has announced two appointments to its charities team. Emma Robertson will work on business development, and joins after 10 years at Ethical Screening. Edward Jewson joins as a charity consultant. He founded Jewson Associates, an investment consultancy in the charity sector, in 1993, and led the firm until its acquisition by Stanhope Capital in 2011. Jewson was subsequently a partner at Stanhope and head of its charities and consultancy division.

Paul Hastings

The law firm has appointed Mark Shepherd as a partner in its real estate division in London. He joins from DLA Piper, and has also previously held roles at SJ Berwin (now King & Wood Mallesons). Shepherd acts on large commercial transactions including investment, joint venture arrangements, and development transactions.
