MANCHESTER United take on Arsenal on Monday night and it’s a match that will lead to a shake-up on Sporting Index’s FA Cup Outright Index.
The index rewards teams in the FA Cup points according to how far they get in the competition with the winners getting 100 and the runners-up 75. Losing the semi-final gets 50 points and losing the quarter-finals 33.
The eight teams remaining have all secured at least 33 points and it’s Liverpool that are the favourites on the index, trading as high as 68-71. Man United and Arsenal are both quoted at 53-58 so this is a great chance to get against one of that pair.
If you really fancy a team in Monday’s showpiece then you might consider selling the other side at 53 knowing you’ll instantly make a profit of 20 times your stake should they lose.
Liverpool fans may want to get their team onside now by buying at 71. The Reds are heavy favourites to beat Blackburn at Anfield on Sunday and if they avoid United or Arsenal in the next round draw their spread will soar.
However, if Blackburn shocked Brendan Rodgers’ men, buyers at 71 would lose a hefty 38 times their stake.
