ADVERTISING guru Sir Martin Sorrell yesterday responded to Peter Mandelson’s call for pro-European UK business leaders to organise and support the effort to keep Britain in Europe.
Sorrell told City AM yesterday that: “the pro-European movement should be better organised”, saying he was “personally…prepared to help.”
Sorrell clarified that he was making “no criticism” of those currently leading the pro-European business movement, but suggesting that there “just needs to be more to counter opposites” and pledged to “do what I can.”
The WPP chief executive was responding to comments from Mandelson, who urged pro-European business leaders to be better organised in making their case for Britain’s continuing membership of the EU at Davos.
“Those trying to take Britain out of Europe are formidable, pro-European businesses must get organised,” the former business secretary and EU commissioner warned.
