Netto, which left the UK in 2010, intends to open 15 stores in a trial in the north of England, but has still to open any stores in London or the south east.
The Danish discount group told City A.M. that it intended to introduce 60 new products each week.
It also wants to put greater emphasis on in-store bakeries, a move which would copy Sainsbury’s already thriving bread sections.
There will also be a British-only meat section and its own-brand Indian food, exclusive to the UK.
Netto envisages it will be a success this time around, due to the British public’s acceptance of discount stores.
