John Heawood has been appointed non-executive chairman of the marketing communications agency. Heawood is former group executive director for UK property at Segro, partner at DTZ Debenham Tie Leung and managing director of the Ashtenne Industrial Fund.


The professional services firm has appointed Neill Thomas as head of corporate finance and Andrew Nicholson as head of M&A. Prior to joining KPMG in 2001, Thomas spent 15 years with Schroders. Both take over from Richard Clarke, who held both roles, but has now been appointed head of investment management within the firm’s financial services practice. In addition, Jonathan White becomes the company’s UK head of valuations.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners

Guy Davies has been appointed director of equities by the asset management business of BNP Paribas group. He was previously head of research at FundQuest Advisor, which is also part of the group. Prior to this, Davies co-founded MM Asset Management, having begun his career with Mercer Investment Consulting.

HSBC Holdings

Andy Maguire joins the parent company of the HSBC group as group chief operating officer and general manager, succeeding Sean O’Sullivan. Maguire joins from Boston Consulting Group, where he was managing partner for the UK and Ireland. He started his career 20 years ago with Lloyds Bank.


The visual computing company has appointed two new vice-presidents covering its Europe, Middle East and India markets. Jaap Zuidervald has been named vice-president of sales and marketing, and Xochilt Balzola-Widmann vice-president of consumer business. Zuidervald joins from Colt Technology Services in London; he has held leadership roles at ACN and Active 24 before that, and was previously with BT. Balzola-Widmann joins from Amazon, and her career spans roles at Activision Blizzard, Ingram Micro and Symantec.

Bond Dickinson

The law firm has appointed three intellectual property specialists. Samantha Lucas, Rachel Hearson and Amy Galloway will all join from firm Walker Morris, and will be based in the Leeds office.
