Investec Specialist Bank

Christian Hess has been appointed head of the bank’s newly created financial sponsor transaction group within its investment banking business. He was previously a partner at Compass Partners International, founded Hess & Co Capital Advisors, and has also held senior roles at UBS.

Mobius Life

The life insurance and institutional investment platform has appointed Craig Brown as institutional distribution director. He joins from Legal & General Investment Management, where he was head of global consultant relations. Brown has also held senior positions at HSBC Investments, Deutsche Asset Management and Mercer Investment Consulting.

Squire Patton Boggs

The law firm has announced two appointments. Adam Hastings joins as a partner in its global corporate practice from Hogan Lovells, where he was counsel. Hastings specialises in equity capital markets, M&A and related work. Massimo Galli joins as a partner in Squire Patton Boggs’s global corporate practice in London. He was previously a partner at Brown Rudnick, and focuses on cross-border corporate finance and M&A transactions.

Quayle Munro

The advisory firm has announced the establishment of a financial services team with three hires. Lawrence Guthrie, Christian Kent and Paul Tracey all join from Canaccord Genuity.

Ropes & Gray

Anna Lawry has been appointed counsel in the law firm’s hedge fund group in its London office. She was previously a senior associate at Slaughter and May. Lawry qualified in Wilde Sapte’s banking and finance team, and will focus on derivatives in her new role.


The foreign exchange and international payments firm has appointed Kevin Grant as managing director of corporate international payments. He joins from IT2 Treasury Solutions, where he was chief executive.

Ince & Co

Martin Sandgren has been appointed of counsel in the law firm’s renewables team, in its London office. He joins from Siemens Wind Power, where he has been co-head of legal for the past five years.
