TWO-TIME grand slam champion Andy Murray has vowed to keep playing for Great Britain whatever the outcome of the Scottish independence referendum, expected this morning.
The 2013 Wimbledon champion tweeted to more than 2.7million followers yesterday that he was in favour of the “yes” vote, which would mean Scotland are no longer part of Britain.
However, following the draw for next year’s Davis Cup World Group which saw Britain paired with United States, Murray said: “I will be playing for Great Britain in the Davis Cup next year, that is for sure.
“As far as I’m concerned the vote doesn’t change anything in that regard.
“Regardless of how it goes I think it’s very important for everyone to stick together afterwards.”
Britain are set to stage a home tie with USA from 6 March 2015.
