Quantum Advisory
Sean Gilfeather has been appointed principal consultant and actuary at the actuarial and benefits consultancy. He joins from Lorica Consulting, where he was head of actuarial and risk management. Gilfeather has also held roles at PwC and Towers Watson.
Mercer
The talent, retirement, health and investment firm has appointed Jane Barker as its UK chair. She is currently chairman of sister company Marsh, and is chief executive of Equitas. Barker is a former chief operating officer of the London Stock Exchange.
Shawbrook Bank
Simon Furnell has been appointed managing director, savings and outsourced services, at the bank. He most recently worked for Barclays and Barclaycard, and has also held roles at the Lloyds Banking Group.
RPC
Jake Hardy has been appointed legal director at the law firm. He joined RPC in 2010 from Reed Smith, and is a member of its banking and financial markets practice. Hardy trained at Richard Butler and qualified in 2000.
Pinsent Masons
The law firm has announced the appointment of Ben Lasserson as a partner in its London-based EU and competition practice. He joins from US litigation boutique Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Sullivan & Hedges, where he was a senior associate in its London office.
AVCA
The African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association has appointed Dr Dorothy Kelso as director, head of strategy and research. She was most recently an associate director in the private equity strategic market intelligence team at EY. Kelso has also held roles at Collier Capital, IE Consulting, the IMF, and Incisive Media.
MFS Investment Management
The asset management firm has appointed James Gavin as head of wholesale UK, Ireland and Channel Islands. He was previously director of asset management at Commerzbank, and has also held roles at Z Capital Management and Eaton Vance Management.
Hargreave Hale
The investment firm has announced the appointment of Jeannette Cottrell. She joins from Bestinvest, where she was a senior investment adviser.
